Overview | The CTE is a single opening controller that allows perimeter and common area openings to be managed in a single system. It is powered by PoE or 12-24VDC and is considered a wireless device as it gets it updates over WiFi check in’s or BLE syncs. (2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks ONLY.). It is sold with and MTB in which it communicates via RS-485. It is ideal for multifamily, commercial mixed use, narrow stile and retail store front applications. The CTE can also operate as an offline device without an active wireless connection. In this configuration, the CTE receives all updates through BLE sync or No Tour programming. |

First Person In | Guarantees that at least one person is present when the door is open. | Works with AutoUnlock Schedules . | On: lock will remain locked until a user presents a credential to open the door. The lock will then stay unlocked until the end of the AutoUnlock period. (Off) : lock will unlock at the set unlock time. |
Door Position Sensor | Senses whether the door is open or closed. | Physical DPS must be installed. (DPS: Door position sensor) | On: monitor the door status (Off) : do not monitor the door status |
Door Prop Enabled | Toggle whether a door prop event should be generated when the door is propped open. | Door Position Sensor must be On . Works with Door Prop Delay. | On: a door prop event will be generated when the door prop delay time is met (Off) : no door prop event will be generated |
Door Prop Delay | The amount of time before a door prop event is generated. | Door Position Sensor * must be *On . Door Prop Enabled must be On . | 1-255 seconds (20) seconds |
Lock On Close | Known as Anti-tailgate in Engage. Locks the device immediately when its status changes from open to closed. Available only when Door Position Sensor is on
Latch Interval (Relock delay) | Number of seconds before the latch relocks after unlocking. | 1-30 seconds (3) seconds
Proximity RF | Toggle whether proximity credentials will be read or not. | (On) : Proximity credentials will be read Off: Proximity credentials will not be read
Beeper | Toggle whether the beeper should sound or not. | (On) : the lock beeper will sound Off: the lock beeper will not sound
Main Strike | Match to physical strike type. | Door Position Sensor must be On. | (Electric Strike) Electric Exit Electrified Lock Magnetic Lock Other |
Daily Schedule/Weekly Schedule | Use this to configure the check-in frequency*. You can use a daily schedule and have the device check in anywhere from every 1 hour to every 24 hours. You can use a weekly schedule and only have the device check in at specific times on specific days of the week. | (Daily) Weekly
Check In Frequency | How often the check-in should occur. | Since the CTE has consistent hard line power, it can check in more frequently to allow for faster updates. The default of every 15 mins is standard, but can adjust as needed. | (Every 15mins) Every 30 mins Every 1 hours Every 2 hours Every 4 hours Every 8 hours Every 12 hours Every 24 hours |
Check In Time | The specific time the check-in should occur. | Daily Schedule must be selected. | (The current time) |
Day of the Week | The day of the week the check-in should occur. | Weekly Schedule must be selected | (none) |
Check in Time (for each day) | The specific time the check-in should occur. | Weekly Schedule must be selected | (The current time) |
Next Expected Check In | The next time the check-in is expected to occur.
Last Connect time | The last time the device connected to the server. |
Troubleshooting
- Can I use an MTBK15 reader with the CTE?
- No. The CTE supports the MTB11 and MTB15 readers only.
- My MTB needs to be replaced. Do I need to recommission the CTE?
- Recommissioning the CTE is not required.
- Physically replace the MTB and pair it to the CTE using the MTB pairing steps below.
- Complete a Wi-Fi or BLE check-in to associate the new MTB serial number with the CTE.
- BLE credentials aren’t recognized at the MTB connected to my CTE. What should I check?
- Confirm the MTB wiring is correct.
- Check the CTE’s device settings for the MTB serial number. If none appears, recheck the wiring and sync the CTE.
- My CTE isn’t checking in. What should I check?
- Confirm the Wi-Fi network settings are saved on the CTE.
- RunCheck in via Wi-Fifrom the Zentra mobile app.
- How do I factory default reset (FDR) a CTE?
- Remove the CTE lid.
- Press and hold theFDRbutton, and release once the LED turns green and beeps.
- Press theSchlagebutton three times.
A successful FDR is indicated by the CTE status LED and reader LED blinking green for one second, with the reader beeping for one second. The MODE LED then indicates Factory Default mode.- How do I pair or re-pair an MTB to a CTE?
- Confirm the wiring is correct.
- Press theSchlagebutton once, then press theFDRbutton twice.
Success is indicated by three amber LED flashes and a beep. Failure is indicated by three red LED flashes and a beep.- I can’t connect via BLE to pair my CTE. What’s wrong?
- Confirm the mobile device is in BLE range of the CTE itself, not the MTB reader. The CTE and MTB are typically installed in separate locations — the CTE is often mounted in a storage or utility room, while the MTB reader sits at the door. Pairing only succeeds within range of the CTE.
