Modifying Unit Matches BETA
BETA
As your property changes (new units, renamed units, new Devices, multi-door units), you may need to change unit matches. This section explains how, and what to do when a unit needs more than one Device.
There Is No Self-Service Unit Match Editor
Unlike the initial setup wizard, there is no self-service screen for editing unit matches after setup in this beta. Adding a unit, correcting a wrong match, or removing a match all require contacting Zentra support.
When to Contact Support
- New units added to your PMS that need a Zentra Device match
- A unit was matched to the wrong Device
- Units renamed or renumbered in your PMS
- Devices replaced or moved
- You want to stop syncing residents for a specific unit
What to Provide
When contacting support, include:
- The PMS unit name or ID
- The Zentra Device it should be matched to (or “skip” if it should not sync)
- For corrections, the current (incorrect) match
Support applies the change on your behalf. Existing residents matched to a changed unit may have their access updated on the next sync – review the resident’s User Groups after the change if you are unsure.
Matching to Multiple Devices
Unit matching is strictly one-to-one: a PMS unit matches exactly one Zentra Device. There is no way to match a single unit to multiple Devices, even through Zentra support.
For units that need access to more than one door (for example, a front door and a separate patio door), the supported approach is:
- Match the unit to one Device as usual (its primary door).
- Create or use an existing User Group that grants access to the additional door(s).
- Assign residents of that unit to the User Group, either manually or via your default access configuration.
This is a manual, ongoing step for residents of multi-door units – it is not automated by the PMS sync.
