Unit Transfers BETA
BETA
When a resident moves to a different unit within your property, Zentra automatically updates their access based on the new unit assignment. This section explains how unit transfers are handled.
How Transfers are Detected
During sync, Zentra detects unit transfers when:
- A resident’s unit assignment changes in the PMS
- The new unit is different from their current Zentra unit
- The resident status remains active
How Unit Transfers Are Processed
When a resident’s unit assignment changes in your PMS, Zentra automatically updates their access. The system:
- Grants access to the new unit
- Revokes access to the old unit
- Preserves non-unit access (amenities, perimeter)
- Re-evaluates default access rules for the new unit
All unit transfers are processed automatically when PMS sync occurs. There are no grace period or manual review options for transfers in this version.
Per-Unit Access on Transfer
If you configured per-unit access (different amenities for different units), the transfer process:
- Removes old unit-specific User Groups
- Adds new unit-specific User Groups
- Preserves manually-added User Groups
User Groups you manually added to a resident (not from PMS) are preserved during transfers.
Physical Credentials on Transfer
Physical credentials remain assigned to the resident during transfers. After the sync applies the transfer:
- The credential continues to work for the new unit Device
- Common-area and amenity access remains intact
- No additional queue actions are required
Same-Unit Transfers
If the PMS indicates a transfer but the unit number is the same (or maps to the same Zentra Device), no access changes occur. The sync is recorded but access remains unchanged.
