How to add a device with the mobile app video
The Add device button from the Devices view triggers our device commissioning process.
1. On the Devices tab, select “Add device” from the top right. Please note that this tab will only be visible to users who have the Access Point – Modify permission.
2. Select the device type to commission. For this example, we’ll use a Control lock.
3. Once the device type is selected, Zentra will begin scanning for devices in range that are ready to be commissioned (devices must be in factory-default-reset state and have power).
4. Once a device in range has been discovered, users will be able to choose the device they’d like to commission from the list. In this example, there is only once device in range.
5. To confirm the correct device, the lock will flash red. Users will be unable to select the “Yes, it’s blinking option” until this initial pairing step has succeeded.
6. Users will be prompted to provide a name for the lock. If a lock has been added with the “Commission Later” flow, it will be available as an option to select here, rather than needing to provide a name. In either case, select “Next”.
7. Users will be shown this screen while commissioning finishes up.
8. Success! Users can select Finish to return to the device list, or “Commission another device” to be taken back to step 2 where the loop begins.
