The First Person In feature is used in combination with Auto-Unlock rules. If the First Person In feature is enabled for a lock, that door will remain locked/secured until a grant access event occurs, even when a scheduled Auto-Unlock rule is configured. Once a valid credential has been approved, the door will unlock and remain in the passage state until the end of the Auto-Unlock period.

Please note that in order to achieve a grant access event, a Grant Access weekly rule will need to be configured on the door. This rule type establishes a credential database on the door, which is required for the grant access event that triggers the first person in functionality.

This feature guarantees that at least one person is present when the door is unlocked.
